  • A Film About Two Worlds

    • Reconnection is a film about uncovering the masks. It’s about two worlds. A world of living behind a polite smile, where glances briefly meet only to get back to phone screens and a phrase “what’s up?” – this doesn’t really need an answer. And then it’s about another world that only lets you in if you get out of your bubble, out of your sterile and sanitized life to a reality and eventually to your true self.

‘Show Reconnection Around The World’ Campaign

Film trailer and fragments

Why do we need this film

A film about sacred Indian town of five thousand temples, “Reconnection” has won 14 awards and has been screened at 25 International film festivals.

It takes the viewer on a journey of spiritual awakening.
— Creation International Film Festival, Canada More reviews

This film is not for everyone. “Reconnection” is the film you would want to show to your friends, who are trying to rediscover their inner self , have lost their path and are looking for answers.

The film just fascinates. It is easy to watch but it has a deep meaning at the same time.
— Anjelika Batischeva More reviews

Films like this easily get lost in a mainstream flow of action-packed franchises and do not fit in a traditional distribution model. Yet we need transformative films like this more than ever.

If we want more uplifting films like this we need to lift up the films like this!
— Madi Brinkmann, a Grammy nominee musician More reviews

We realized that the fastest way we can get this film to you is if we cut all the mediators and agents, tailor our own distribution strategy and ask your help to fund it. That’s why we have started a fundraising campaign to release the film online, for free.

Where does the money go?

For the film to be released we need two things:

  1. Cover the production expenses
  2. Micro-budget production by the film standards, “Reconnection” has been made through private funding. For the film to be released, this funds need to be returned. The film production budget amounts to USD 88,000. This is what we set as the campaign minimum fundraising goal.

  3. Raise money for the film distribution and promotion
  4. It is not enough to put a film online for free. In order for “Reconnection” to reach its audience, the film needs promotion.
We need to invest into advertisement, paid social media coverage and articles in major media outlets.
Besides making the film available online for free, we plan to put the film on VOD platforms, in-flight entertainment programs and a few others channels. We already have started the promotional activity, investing some of your contributions as they come. Our estimated distribution / promo budget is $24,000. Put on top of our minimum, it amounts to a $112,000 stretch goal of the campaign.

Everything that comes to mind when one imagines India is in its proper place in Reconnection

  • The uplifting Holi festival, monkeys stealing things, Indian cuisine in its diversity and colourfulness, temples, cows (a safe space for cows), the concept of timelessness, the merging of the mundane and the sacred in almost untraceable ways, everything that comes to mind when one imagines India is in its proper place in Reconnection.

Reconnection is a visually stunning film

  • Reconnection is a visually stunning film. I love the footage of the countryside, the mountains, and the intimate look at the people of Vrindavan. The visuals all create a very strong, cohesive sense of style and feel like something out of a National Geographic magazine.

What it offers is healing experience through helping others and sharing your life and love with them

  • Humble in its appearance, Vrindavan is not trying to awe you by grandeur of white temples and impeccable nature. What it offers is healing experience through helping others and sharing your life and love with them. The movie invites adventurers, roamers and all who might have lost their way to come and visit.

This is a captivating trip to an intangible place!

  • Maksim Varfolomeev’s ‘Reconnection’ is a film teaching about the power to give correct priorities in life. It is an initiatory path in a strange space where value is differently quantified and assigned by people who know so little about the western commercial culture but so much about humanity.
